FundAction's Community Council

The Community Council is an organ of FundAction which accompanies the Facilitation Group from an advisory position, and is composed of 6-9 members of the FA community on a rotating basis. Each member has a mandate of 3 years and undergoes a process of application according to specified criteria of selection. The CC acts also as a mediator of conflicts and refers its responsibility to The Protocol for Conflict Prevention and Transformation . General tasks of the Community Council

• Supervise the policy and strategy of the board and the general course of events in the foundation; this also includes financial supervision
• May give the board instructions on the policy direction to be pursued
• Approving the balance sheet and statement of income and expenditure
• Addressing emerging conflicts, by being attentive and proactive in spotting potential tensions factors
• Providing strategic advice on specific issues, under request of the FG or any member of the community
• Supporting the interpretation of Assemblies’ decisions or the lack of Assembly decisions on any key topic
• Implementing care and conflict prevention/resolution protocols
• Promoting, enforcing and overseeing the application of the steps for the culture of care proposed by the FA taskforce and consequently developed by the FG
• Hire external experts/consultants to support with conflict resolution if such a situation arises
• Meet once a month with the FG, for updates on strategic aspects of FA (2 hours) 
• Meet once a month among themselves to deliberate on FA functioning (1 hour) 
• Devote 1 hour per month on working with the Care and Community building WG on mutual learning
